Larson Residence

This was a top-to-bottom remodel — the homeowners wanted a cohesive, modern home without losing the warmth. We gutted the kitchen, opened up the living and dining areas around a new double-sided fireplace, rebuilt the master suite with a walk-in closet, renovated every bathroom, and finished the laundry room. Wide-plank hardwood floors run the entire main level, tying everything together.

The kitchen sets the tone for the whole house. Two-tone cabinetry — dark navy-grey lowers and white shaker uppers — with white quartz countertops and an elongated hexagonal tile backsplash running wall to wall. The island is big enough to seat three and houses a built-in microwave drawer. Glass globe pendants overhead, a stainless double-oven range with chimney hood, and matte black hardware throughout. The perimeter side has the sink centered under a window with a view of the backyard, and a panel-ready dishwasher that disappears into the cabinetry.

The living and dining rooms share an open plan anchored by a double-sided gas fireplace wrapped in floor-to-ceiling marble-look porcelain tile. On the living side, the fireplace wall runs full height with clean horizontal grout lines — no mantel, no trim, just stone and fire. Modern seating arranged around a dark round coffee table on a jute rug, with a glass door opening to the deck. On the dining side, the same marble wall frames a dark wood table with wishbone chairs. The kitchen is visible from both rooms, and the wide-plank hardwood floors run continuously through all three spaces.

The master suite got a full renovation. The bathroom has a double vanity with white shaker cabinetry, quartz countertop, and matte black fixtures — faucets, hardware, towel rings, and black-framed mirrors with a multi-light vanity sconce above each. Adjacent to the bathroom is a custom walk-in closet with built-in drawers, shelving, and hanging rods, finished to the same standard as the rest of the house. The two spaces are connected but separated by a half-wall, so the closet has its own natural light from a transom window.

Every bathroom in the house was renovated. The hall bath has a tub with a large-format grey wood-look tile surround, built-in corner shelves, and matte black fixtures — clean and neutral enough for a shared family space. The second bathroom has a walk-in shower with white stacked subway tile from floor to ceiling, a pebble mosaic floor and matching niche, frameless glass enclosure with matte black hardware, and hardwood-look flooring outside the wet area. Two completely different looks, same level of finish.

A dedicated laundry room with full-size LG front-load washer and dryer on storage pedestals, butcher block countertop for folding, and the same wide-plank hardwood floors as the rest of the house. Clean, bright, and functional — not an afterthought. The room has its own window for natural light and ventilation, and enough floor space to actually work in.
